Accessibility

Reading should feel open to everyone.

Reydero is built for people who love books, ideas, discussions and learning. We want the experience of discovering content, reading, creating, sharing and connecting to be usable by as many people as possible, across different devices, abilities and ways of interacting with the web.

Designed with accessibility in mind.

We continue improving Reydero so people can navigate, read, create and participate using different devices, input methods and assistive technologies.

Keyboard Mobile Screen Readers Captions

Accessibility matters at Reydero. A reader platform should not be designed only for one kind of reader. People interact with technology in different ways, including through keyboards, screen readers, touch devices, voice input, magnification, captions and other assistive technologies.

Our approach: We aim to improve accessibility as Reydero grows. This means accessibility is treated as an ongoing product responsibility rather than a one-time checkbox.

Our Accessibility Commitment

Reydero aims to make its website and platform increasingly accessible to people with different physical, sensory, cognitive and technological needs.

We want people to be able to discover books, read discussions, explore profiles, publish content and participate in the community without unnecessary accessibility barriers.

Accessibility is an ongoing process. As new Reydero features are developed, we will aim to consider accessibility during design, development and improvement rather than attempting to address it only after a feature is released.

Accessibility Across Reydero

Accessibility considerations may apply to many parts of Reydero, including:

📚

Reading & Discovery

Making book-related content and discovery experiences easier to navigate and understand.

📝

Posts & Discussions

Supporting readable and understandable discussions, posts and reader interactions.

🎬

Reels & Stories

Improving media experiences through appropriate controls, labels and alternatives where possible.

👤

Profiles

Making profile information and navigation understandable and usable.

Keyboard Accessibility

People may navigate websites without using a mouse or touchscreen. Reydero aims to support keyboard-based interaction for applicable interactive elements.

This includes considering the ability to reach controls using keyboard navigation, understand where focus is located and activate relevant controls without requiring a mouse.

We also aim to avoid interactions that unnecessarily require precise pointer movements when a keyboard alternative is appropriate.

Keyboard accessibility can depend on the browser, operating system, device and specific component. We continue to improve this experience as the platform develops.

Screen Readers & Assistive Technologies

Reydero aims to use meaningful HTML structure, labels and accessible controls so that assistive technologies can better understand important parts of the interface.

Where appropriate, we may use semantic headings, labels, accessible button names, alternative text and other techniques that can improve compatibility with assistive technology.

Because Reydero contains dynamic social content, some experiences may be more challenging than static pages. We will continue improving dynamic interactions such as content creation, menus, dialogs, media controls and notifications.

Visual Accessibility

Reydero's visual design aims to provide clear hierarchy, readable text, recognizable controls and sufficient separation between interface elements.

We aim to consider visual accessibility through:

  • Readable typography.
  • Clear heading hierarchy.
  • Appropriate spacing.
  • Visible interactive states.
  • Clear buttons and links.
  • Meaningful visual grouping.
  • Avoiding unnecessary dependence on color alone.

Users may also benefit from browser zoom, operating system text scaling, display settings or assistive technologies available on their devices.

Accessible Content

Accessibility is not only about the interface. The content shared on Reydero can also affect whether the platform is accessible.

We encourage creators to make their content as understandable as reasonably possible.

Helpful practices include:

  • Use clear headings.
  • Write meaningful descriptions.
  • Avoid unnecessary blocks of difficult-to-read text.
  • Provide context for images.
  • Add captions or text alternatives where practical.
  • Avoid communicating important information through color alone.

Images, Graphics & Alternative Text

Images are an important part of Reydero, particularly for posts, profiles, book-related content, stories and visual discussions.

Where appropriate and technically supported, images should have meaningful alternative text or contextual descriptions.

Alternative text should communicate the useful meaning of an image rather than simply repeating a filename or stating that an image exists.

Example: Instead of describing an image only as "book.jpg", useful alternative text could explain that the image shows a person holding a book while reading beside a window, if that information is relevant to the content.

Because Reydero includes user-generated content, we cannot guarantee that every image uploaded by a user will contain appropriate alternative text or an accessible description.

Video, Reels & Audio

Reydero supports visual and media-based experiences, including reels and stories. We recognize that video and audio can create barriers for people who are deaf, hard of hearing, blind, have low vision or prefer text-based access.

Where technically and practically appropriate, we aim to support:

  • Captions or subtitles for spoken video content.
  • Clear media controls.
  • Text-based context where useful.
  • Alternatives for important audio information where practical.
  • Avoiding unnecessary autoplay experiences where possible.

User-uploaded videos may not always contain captions, descriptions or other accessibility features. We encourage creators to add them whenever possible.

Forms, Login & Account Features

Forms are an important part of Reydero because users may need to register, log in, create posts, edit profiles, publish content, search, report content or manage their accounts.

We aim to make form controls understandable by using meaningful labels, clear instructions and useful error feedback where appropriate.

Error messages should ideally explain what went wrong and what the user can do to correct it rather than simply displaying an unexplained technical error.

This approach applies to important actions such as account registration, login, content creation and reporting.

Mobile Accessibility

Reydero is designed to work across desktop and mobile screen sizes because readers may access the platform from phones, tablets, laptops or desktop computers.

Our responsive approach aims to provide:

  • Responsive layouts.
  • Touch-friendly controls.
  • Readable content on smaller screens.
  • Mobile navigation.
  • Appropriate spacing between interactive elements.
  • Content that does not unnecessarily require horizontal scrolling.

Actual accessibility may still vary depending on the device, browser, operating system, screen size and assistive technology being used.

User-Generated Content

A significant part of Reydero is created by its community. Posts, reels, stories, comments, images, book discussions and profiles may be created by individual users.

Because users control much of this content, Reydero cannot guarantee that every piece of user-generated content will meet the same accessibility standard.

We encourage the Reydero community to consider accessibility when publishing content.

🖼️

Describe Images

Add useful context when an image communicates important information.

💬

Write Clearly

Use understandable language and meaningful formatting.

🎥

Caption Media

Add captions or text context to spoken video whenever possible.

❤️

Think About Others

Remember that your audience may interact with content differently from you.

Accessibility in Social Interactions

Accessibility also matters in conversations. Comments, captions, posts and discussions should not intentionally make it harder for another person to participate.

We encourage respectful communication and discourage behavior that deliberately targets or excludes people because of a disability or accessibility need.

Our Community Guidelines provide additional expectations for respectful participation.

Accessibility & Reading Experience

Reading is central to Reydero. We want the reading experience to work for people with different reading preferences and abilities.

As Reydero evolves, we may consider improvements such as better typography, clearer content hierarchy, improved spacing, accessible media descriptions, adjustable presentation options and other reading improvements.

Not every accessibility feature may be available in every version of the platform today.

Browser & Assistive Technology Support

Reydero is intended to work with commonly used modern browsers and device technologies.

Accessibility can vary depending on the combination of browser, operating system, screen reader, magnification software, keyboard configuration, browser extensions and other assistive technologies.

If you experience an accessibility problem, please report it to us. Your specific setup can help us reproduce and understand the issue.

Known Limitations

Reydero is an evolving platform and may contain accessibility limitations.

Possible limitations may include:

  • Older pages or components may not behave as consistently as newer components.
  • Some user-generated images may not have meaningful alternative text.
  • Some user-generated videos may not include captions.
  • Dynamic social features may create challenges for some assistive technologies.
  • Third-party content or services may not be fully accessible.
  • Certain newly released features may require further accessibility improvements.

Identifying a limitation does not mean we consider it permanent. Accessibility feedback helps us identify where improvements are most needed.

Continuous Accessibility Improvements

Accessibility is not a feature that can simply be completed once and forgotten.

As Reydero develops, we may improve accessibility through changes to:

  • Page structure and navigation.
  • Buttons and interactive controls.
  • Forms and validation messages.
  • Keyboard navigation.
  • Screen-reader labels.
  • Image descriptions and media support.
  • Mobile layouts.
  • Color and visual presentation.

Accessibility improvements may be introduced as part of normal product development, bug fixes, redesigns or new features.

Accessibility & Third-Party Services

Some Reydero features may depend on third-party services, integrations or embedded technologies.

Reydero cannot guarantee the accessibility of independently operated third-party websites, services or content.

Where a third-party service creates an important accessibility barrier, we encourage users to report the problem so we can consider whether an alternative approach is possible.

Accessibility & Legal Compliance

Reydero aims to improve accessibility in a manner consistent with applicable laws and recognized accessibility principles.

Accessibility requirements can vary depending on the service, location, applicable law and circumstances.

This statement should therefore not be interpreted as a representation that every Reydero feature currently satisfies every accessibility requirement or every version of every accessibility standard.

Our goal is practical, continuous improvement rather than making unsupported claims of perfect accessibility.

Alternative Ways to Get Help

If an accessibility problem prevents you from using a particular online function, contact Reydero and explain what you are trying to accomplish.

Where reasonably possible, we can consider an alternative way of communicating or providing information while the accessibility issue is being reviewed.

The availability of a particular alternative will depend on the nature of the request and the technical resources available at the time.

Accessibility Feedback Is Welcome

You do not need to wait until you find a serious bug to tell us about accessibility.

Feedback about confusing navigation, difficult-to-read content, unclear controls, missing descriptions, keyboard problems, screen-reader issues or media accessibility can all help us improve Reydero.

We appreciate specific, constructive feedback because it gives us a better opportunity to understand the problem and improve the product.

Accessibility & Community Guidelines

Accessibility is also part of building a respectful community.

Reydero does not want people to be harassed, ridiculed or excluded because of a disability or accessibility need.

Users should follow the Community Guidelines when interacting with other readers.

Accessibility & Privacy

Accessibility requests may sometimes contain personal information if you choose to tell us about your device, assistive technology or individual circumstances.

Please share only information that is necessary to explain the accessibility issue.

Reydero's broader handling of personal information is described in our Privacy Policy .

Accessibility & Cookies

Some Reydero features may use cookies or similar technologies for authentication, preferences, security or other functionality.

Blocking certain cookies can affect functionality and may sometimes change how accessible or usable a feature is.

More information about cookies and available choices is provided in our Cookie Policy .

Our Goal for Reydero

Reydero is intended to become a place where readers from different backgrounds can discover books, exchange ideas, share lessons and participate in meaningful conversations.

Accessibility is part of that vision.

We want people to feel that Reydero was designed for them too — whether they read visually, listen to content, navigate with a keyboard, use assistive technology, rely on captions or simply need a cleaner and easier interface.

Accessibility is an ongoing journey. We will continue learning, listening to users and improving Reydero as the platform grows.

Changes to This Accessibility Statement

Reydero may update this Accessibility Statement as the platform changes, new accessibility features are introduced, existing features are improved or our accessibility practices develop.

The "Last updated" date at the beginning of this page will indicate when this statement was most recently updated.
