Copyright Policy

Protecting the ideas behind the work.

Reydero is built around books, ideas, writing, conversations and original creative work. This Copyright Policy explains how copyright applies to content on Reydero, what belongs to Reydero, what belongs to our users and third parties, and how copyright concerns can be reported.

Last updated: October 4, 2026

Welcome to Reydero's Copyright Policy. Reydero respects intellectual property rights and expects its users to do the same. This policy explains how copyright applies to material published on Reydero and how copyright owners can raise concerns about potentially infringing content.

Important: This policy is intended as general information about Reydero's copyright practices. It does not replace legal advice or determine whether a particular use is legally infringing. Copyright questions can depend on the specific work, facts, permissions, licences and applicable law.

Copyright Overview

Copyright protects qualifying original creative works. In India, copyright law is primarily governed by the Copyright Act, 1957 and related rules.

Copyright can apply to different categories of creative expression, including literary and artistic works and other protected subject matter recognized by applicable law.

The Copyright Act provides exclusive rights to copyright owners in relation to protected works, while also recognizing certain statutory exceptions and limitations.

Reydero respects those rights and does not intend this policy to restrict rights that users or copyright owners have under applicable law.

The official Indian Copyright Office identifies the Copyright Act, 1957 as the principal copyright legislation in India and notes that the law has been amended over time, including substantial amendments in 2012 addressing digital copyright issues.

User-Generated Content

Reydero allows users to create and share content such as posts, comments, images, reels, stories, book discussions, reviews and other material supported by the platform.

Generally, you remain responsible for the content you upload or publish and for ensuring that you have the rights, permissions or lawful basis necessary to share it.

Uploading content to Reydero does not automatically transfer ownership of that content to Reydero.

Your responsibility: Before uploading content, make sure you have the necessary rights or permission to use the photographs, writing, artwork, music, video, excerpts or other protected material contained in that upload.

Your Rights in Your Content

Subject to applicable law and any rights belonging to other people, you generally retain the rights you own in original content that you create and upload to Reydero.

For example, if you create an original photograph, original essay or original artwork and you own the copyright in that work, uploading it to Reydero does not by itself mean that Reydero becomes the copyright owner.

However, you must not upload content that belongs to another person unless you have permission or another lawful basis to do so.

License You Give Reydero

When you upload or publish content on Reydero, you grant Reydero the permissions necessary to host, store, reproduce, format, display, transmit and make that content available through the platform so that Reydero can operate the service.

This operational permission may include technical processes such as creating thumbnails, resizing images, converting media formats, caching content or displaying your content across different device sizes.

The license is intended to enable Reydero to provide the service. It does not mean that Reydero becomes the owner of your underlying copyright.

The specific rights and scope of the user-content license are also addressed in Reydero's Terms of Service .

Third-Party Content

Reydero may contain content that belongs to authors, publishers, photographers, artists, creators, copyright owners or other third parties.

The presence of third-party material on Reydero does not mean that Reydero owns the copyright in that material.

Third-party names, book titles, quotations, cover artwork, photographs, logos and other protected material may belong to their respective owners.

You should not assume that material displayed on Reydero is free to copy, reproduce, download, redistribute or commercially exploit.

Books, Book Summaries & Discussions

Reydero is designed around readers and books. A book title, author name, publisher name, cover artwork, quotation or other element associated with a book may belong to a third party.

Reydero's original commentary, criticism, review, discussion or summary may itself contain original expression, but that does not automatically transfer ownership of the underlying book or its protected material to Reydero.

Users should avoid uploading complete books, unauthorized scans, pirated PDFs, substantial unauthorized reproductions or other material they do not have the right to distribute.

A book being discussed on Reydero does not mean that the book itself is available for free copying or redistribution. Discussion and lawful reference are different from unauthorized reproduction or distribution.

Fair Dealing & Other Legal Exceptions

Copyright law does not necessarily prohibit every use of copyrighted material.

Section 52 of India's Copyright Act, 1957 identifies certain acts that do not constitute copyright infringement. Among the statutory exceptions are specified forms of fair dealing for purposes including research or private study and criticism or review, subject to the requirements of the law. :chatgpt-content-reference{index="2"}

Whether a particular use qualifies for an exception depends on the facts, the type of work, the purpose and the applicable statutory requirements.

Reydero does not determine through this policy that every quotation, excerpt, review, image or user upload qualifies as fair dealing.

If you believe a particular use is lawful under an applicable copyright exception, that legal question should be evaluated based on the actual facts rather than simply relying on the label "fair use" or "fair dealing."

Copyright-Prohibited Activities

Unless authorized by the copyright owner or permitted by applicable law, you should not use Reydero to:

  • Upload pirated books or unauthorized copies.
  • Upload complete copyrighted works without authorization.
  • Reproduce another person's article and present it as your own.
  • Copy photographs or artwork without permission.
  • Distribute unauthorized PDFs, scans or digital copies of books.
  • Upload copyrighted music or video without the necessary rights.
  • Remove or alter copyright notices or attribution with the purpose of concealing infringement.
  • Circumvent technological protections where doing so is unlawful.
  • Use Reydero to facilitate unauthorized commercial distribution of copyrighted material.
  • Repeatedly upload content after receiving valid copyright-related restrictions.

This list is illustrative rather than exhaustive.

Reporting Copyright Infringement

If you believe that content available on Reydero infringes copyright that you own or are authorized to represent, you can contact Reydero through the Contact page .

To help us understand the complaint, your report should provide enough information to identify the work, the allegedly infringing material and your relationship to the copyright.

1

Identify the work

Explain the copyrighted work you believe has been infringed.

2

Identify the content

Provide the Reydero URL, username, post, story, reel or other location if available.

3

Explain ownership

Explain why you are the copyright owner or authorized representative.

4

Send your request

Submit the information through Reydero's available contact channel.

Information That May Help Us Review a Report

A copyright complaint is easier to review when it contains clear and specific information.

Where applicable, include:

  • Your full name or the name of the copyright owner you represent.
  • A description of the copyrighted work.
  • Information showing or explaining your ownership or authority.
  • The exact Reydero URL or location of the allegedly infringing content.
  • An explanation of why you believe the use is unauthorized.
  • Relevant supporting information or documentation where appropriate.
  • A reliable method for Reydero to contact you about the report.

Please do not send passwords, payment-card information or unrelated sensitive information when submitting a copyright complaint.

What Happens After a Report?

When Reydero receives a copyright complaint, we may review the information provided, examine the reported material and take action that we consider appropriate under applicable law and our platform policies.

Depending on the circumstances, possible actions may include requesting additional information, restricting access to content, removing content, contacting the uploader, applying account-level restrictions or taking no action where the report does not establish a sufficient basis for intervention.

The response to a complaint may depend on the completeness of the information provided, the facts of the matter, applicable law and the rights of the relevant parties.

Repeat Copyright Infringement

Reydero may take stronger action against accounts that repeatedly upload content that is determined to infringe copyright or that repeatedly disregard valid copyright-related restrictions.

Depending on the circumstances, this may include:

  • Removing individual content.
  • Restricting certain posting capabilities.
  • Temporarily restricting an account.
  • Permanently terminating an account where justified.

Any enforcement action will depend on the facts, applicable law and Reydero's platform policies.

False or Abusive Copyright Reports

Copyright reporting mechanisms should be used responsibly.

Knowingly submitting false information, deliberately misrepresenting ownership or repeatedly submitting abusive complaints can harm legitimate creators and users.

Reydero may take appropriate action where there is evidence that reporting tools are being intentionally misused.

Content Removal Does Not Decide Ownership

A decision to restrict or remove content following a complaint does not necessarily constitute a final legal determination regarding copyright ownership or infringement.

Copyright disputes can involve competing claims, licences, assignments, permissions, exceptions and other legal questions.

Reydero may take platform-level action while the underlying legal rights remain a matter for the relevant parties or appropriate legal authority.

Copyright Notices & Attribution

Where appropriate, Reydero may display copyright notices, author names, attribution information or other rights-management information.

Users should not intentionally remove or obscure attribution or copyright information in order to make protected content appear to be their own.

Attribution alone does not necessarily create permission to reproduce copyrighted material.

Reydero's Name, Logo & Brand

The Reydero name, logo, visual identity, page designs, brand elements and related materials may be protected by copyright, trademark or other intellectual property rights.

Unless Reydero expressly permits otherwise, you should not copy, modify, reproduce or commercially exploit Reydero's branding in a way that suggests sponsorship, affiliation or authorization that does not exist.

Additional information about Reydero's use of intellectual property is available in the Terms of Service .

Trademarks & Third-Party Brands

Third-party names, logos, brands, book titles, publisher names and other marks appearing on Reydero may belong to their respective owners.

Their appearance on Reydero does not necessarily mean that the relevant owner sponsors, endorses or is affiliated with Reydero.

Trademark rights are separate from copyright rights, and this policy does not attempt to determine the scope of any particular trademark.

Copyright in Links & References

Reydero may refer users to books, publishers, authors, external websites or other resources.

A link to an external website does not mean that Reydero owns the material available on that website.

Users remain responsible for complying with the applicable terms and intellectual property rules of external services they access.

Copyright & Downloads

Unless a particular download or reuse permission is clearly provided, content being viewable on Reydero should not be treated as being freely available for redistribution.

Saving a copy for personal technical purposes may be treated differently under applicable law from distributing, commercially exploiting or publicly reproducing that content.

Users should assess the applicable rights before copying or redistributing protected material.

International Copyright

Copyright protection can also arise under international treaties and the laws of countries other than India.

The Indian Copyright Office notes that India is a member of international copyright-related frameworks, including the Berne Convention and TRIPS, and that Indian copyright law has been developed to address the digital environment. :chatgpt-content-reference{index="3"}

If content is accessed from another country, additional laws or rights may apply depending on the circumstances.

Copyright Registration

Copyright protection and copyright registration are not necessarily the same thing.

The Copyright Office of India provides procedures and online services relating to copyright registration and other copyright matters. :chatgpt-content-reference{index="4"}

Reydero does not represent through this policy that every item of Reydero content has been separately registered with the Copyright Office.

Copyright ownership and registration questions should be assessed according to the applicable law and the specific circumstances of the work.

If You Receive a Copyright Complaint

If you are a Reydero user and receive a notification concerning content you uploaded, you should review the complaint carefully.

If you believe that you have the necessary rights, authorization or another legal basis for the use, you may provide relevant information through the response mechanism made available by Reydero.

Depending on the circumstances, you may wish to obtain independent legal advice before making a substantive legal response.

Copyright & Community Guidelines

Copyright is also part of maintaining a healthy reader community.

Users should respect authors, publishers, photographers, artists, creators and fellow readers.

Our Community Guidelines provide broader rules for respectful and responsible participation on Reydero.

Copyright & Privacy

A copyright complaint may contain personal information such as a person's name, contact information and information about their rights in a work.

Information submitted to Reydero for a copyright complaint may therefore be handled as personal data where applicable.

Our Privacy Policy explains how Reydero may handle personal information.
